About me
Hola, I'm Jordi, an ecology enthusiast! As a kid, every day after going back home from school, I would sit in front of the TV hoping to watch cartoons. However, I was always an hour early and would end up watching the programs run before the cartoons. As fate would have it, these programs were always nature documentaries about jungles, oceans, and deserts. This is where my passion for ecology came about (good thing that the documentaries were not about serial killers). Being born in sunny Barcelona, I would then spend my summers swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, or going on hikes in the Pyrenees, trying to see as many animals as possible, recreating in my head the images I saw in those documentaries. During my studies, I learned how to keep doing this in an academic context, doing fieldwork around Spain, France, Canada, and Senegal.
However, my interests don't stop at ecological research. I'm deeply passionate about issues relating to mental health and environmentalism. I try my best to stick to these values, to engage in actions focusing on tackling these issues, and to keep learning about different ways of solving the underlying societal problems. I believe that we won't be able to solve global issues without systems thinking and system changes.
